Virginia Commonwealth University (Spanish)
I first started tutoring in 8th grade to a small group of students in my algebra 1 class. We were all struggling with the teacher we had, but my step mother is a math teach who helped me so I could help my fellow classmates. This jump started tutoring for me. In 9th grade I tutored in algebra 2 and geometry to the students in the class who just didn't understand. In 10th grade, I tutored in Spanish 2 and Trigonometry and all other previous subjects. By 11th grade, I had tutored over 100 students in Spanish through Spanish 5, math from prealgebra to algebra 1, and then I ventured into elementary schools to experience tutoring on a different platform.
I love tutoring all ages of children, teens, and young adults. Tutoring is somewhat a passion of mine and it has opened my eyes to the different ways people learn and interact with new material. I love being able to help students 1 on 1 because it facilitates the learning process. Tutoring is a love of mine that seems to be getting stronger with age. The most important thing I love about tutoring is the smile of relief after taking a stressful test and obtaining a good grade because there was someone there who helped.
In school math was easy for me. I had a 100 in each math class I took until trigonometry where I earned a 95, which is still great. I have many years of math behind me and can definitely help anyone in need.
I received a 4 on the AP Psychology exam and a 103 in my AP Psychology class. Psychology was always interesting to me and still is just not my main focus of study!
Well I am a Spanish major at VCU, I took 4 years through my public school system, and I practice Spanish all most 99% of the time. Spanish is my passion and the language is very interesting to me. I understand the language and the concepts behind learning another language, speak as if I was a native speaker, and just thoroughly enjoy speaking to others who may or may not speak Spanish.
If you are interested, please email me and we can set up a time that works around your schedule! I am pretty flexible, but am still a student myself. I look forward to helping whoever I can, and I promise to reply promptly to any email received! I first started tutoring in 8th grade to a small group of students in my algebra 1 class. I have spent 5 years of devoted to learning Spanish and learning further into Hispanic culture. I am a student at VCU majoring in Spanish further mastering the Spanish language! I aspire to translate for the courts and a professor, too. I love to enrich others on the amazing culture and ability to have deeper connections with people they would never be able to have had, to further excitement in learning the language deeper.
