To all parents and students:
If you are looking for a history tutor look no further. I have always been passionate about history. The following professional experiences below are some of the things which will make your tutoring experience unique. More specifically to all parents with your child's tutoring experience with me, your student will receive a diversified tutoring experience ranging from an emphasis on American History but also the politics of the subject as well. First in 2007 I graduated with an Advanced Diploma from L.C. Bird High School in Chesterfield, Virginia. After high school, I enrolled at Virginia Union University and majored in history-political science. While at Virginia Union, I was fortunate to acquire some major professional development experiences in which I can bring toward your student's tutoring experience. They are as follows: (1)Volunteer/Administrative Assistant, @ Martin Luther King, Jr. Public Policy Center in Richmond, Virginia (Spring 2009); (2) Delegate, National Model United Nations Conference, New York, New York, (Spring 2010); (3) "Summer Fellowship," Schomburg Humanities Institute (6 weeks), Shomburg Center for Black Culture and Research, Harlem, New York, (Summer 2010) and (4) Delegate, Colloquium Ten for Aspiring Minority Doctoral Candidates, West Virginia University, Morgan town, West Virginia, October 2010. These four experiences were critical to my early development and my passion for the subject.
Upon graduation, other experiences helped to shape my own philosophical framework for education and the subject of history. In 2012, I had the good fortune to present at the International Journal of Arts and Sciences Conference at Harvard University in Cambridge Massachusetts in May of 2012. This experience nearly changed my life. Along with that, I am currently enrolled at Virginia State University in the M.A. History program and currently serving as a second year substitute teacher for Richmond Public Schools. In closing, parents I am looking forward to helping your students with this critical subject because it is definitely needed. Thanks again and looking forward to hearing from you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In terms of music, the drums is one of my favorite instruments. Since 7 years of age, I have been playing the drums and self taught myself. Now, through the years I have been playing for various churches and groups in Richmond, Sandston, and Charles City, Virginia. If you have a student interested in learning how to play the drums, I am available.
