About Kim

Greetings,

My name is Kim (male). I have been an educator of students for thirty-one years. I have a B.S. degree with a double major (elementary education and special education) from Hampton University. I also hold an M.A. degree in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University. I have taught at the elementary and secondary level. I have coached the sports of indoor track, outdoor track, cross country, and football. In addition, I have served on textbook selection committees and curriculum committees. My educational platform is based upon twenty-nine years of experience as a classroom teacher as well as my internal beliefs. Education is a life-long journey; one may never reach their destination. Without education student's lives would be dark and confined. I believe all children have the right to a free education. I believe educators need to apply positive reinforcement and synthesize a well balance curriculum to ensure the success of all students. I also believe all children not only want to learn but also deserve the opportunity to be heard. As an educator and as a leader it is imperative to ensure age appropriate and aligned objectives, always remembering each entity is someone's child. There should be a direct link between home and school utilizing all forms of communication.

Students need to be encouraged rather than discouraged. All children walk in different shoes on their academic journey, as such we as educators need to make sure that no child is left behind on the instructional path. Education is the gateway to all opportunities. The purpose of education is to lay the foundation for all life-long learners. Education is the bridge between self advocacy and experiences. Reading, writing, and math are the core skills that will allow individuals to retain, transfer and apply meaning to their individual world.
