Jacquelyn has been tutoring my niece in Latin since December. She is always willing to spend as much time as needed to make sure that my niece understands the material. She is very patient and also very knowledgeable. Thanks to Jacquelyn, my niece's grades have greatly improved. She is truly the best tutor we have ever had. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to improve their grades and have a better understanding of Latin.
My daughter has accomplished a lot with Jacquelyn in only a few lessons! She now has more confidence and feels she understands Latin grammar much better where before she was sometimes guessing.
Our daughter's grades have consistently improved which has built her confidence and ability to study more on her own. Jacquelyn has also re-taught classroom lessons in a style that my daughter can more easily digest and retain.
Ethan's gotten solid Bs on the last 3 quizzes and he has a high B thus far for this last marking period. Jackie is a great help and partner. Good trend!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a B.A. in Latin with minors in education and classics. I have been teaching for 8 years, and I have 10+ years of tutoring experience. I have experience with both the reading method used in the Cambridge Latin series, as well as more traditional grammar approaches. I can tutor all levels of Latin, from level I through to literature courses, advanced, Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB), and even college courses. I like hands-on study tools, and I try to find ways to integrate technology.
