I enjoy working with students, strengthening any weaknesses and building their confidence. I find it very rewarding when the student tells me that they understand the work and that it makes sense.

In addition to my teaching experience, my background includes the following: MS in Biochemistry, Master's in Public Health and MD.

I enjoy working with students, strengthening any weaknesses and building their confidence. I find it very rewarding when the student tells me that they understand the work and that it makes sense.

In addition to my teaching experience, my background includes the following: MS in Biochemistry, Master's in Public Health and MD.

During the last 13 years, I have been tutoring students of all ages but most of my tutoring has been with high school students for chemistry, biology, algebra I, geometry, and SAT test preparation. For 12 years, I had been a very busy substitute teacher, usually at elementary and middle schools. My teaching experiences have included working with gifted students and also students with learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD.

I encourage students to try the homework on their own before I arrive and I provide the student with extra problems if needed. I make sure that the student is able to understand what is being asked and what they need to do to solve the problem, eventually being able to solve the problem without help from me. I am patient with the different students and work at the speed needed for that student.

Some students may need sessions for longer than one hour. Also, If the student needs more than one session for that particular week, I do my best to arrange an extra meeting. I meet with the student at their house or at a local library.
To the student - I am looking forward to working with you, helping you bring up your grade(s) and feel good about the course(s).

Elementary Math

I have been a busy substitute for more than 12 years, teaching mostly elementary and middle school classes. I have often taught different math sessions during these substitutions and my work has often been with children with learning disabilities in math and/or reading. I was also a long-term 4th grade substitute for about 3 months. I find it very satisfying to help the children understand the different math concepts.

Very Knowledgeable and patient

Linda was a great tutor for my son, who is a freshman. She is knowledgeable and very well prepared. Linda was comfortable working with my son, and was very patient with him.

Engaging and Supporting

My daughter is at a school with a nutty mod program, which means that the kids have to cover major topic areas in 5 week 'sprints'. My daughter really benefited from Linda spending time with her, patiently connecting dots in what she had been learning and working problems. My daughter has had immediate results in how she's doing, but MOST importantly is confidently mastering the subject matter.
