I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in children, families, and cultures. I am in the 6th year of my program and over the course of my studies I have developed a passion for sharing knowledge. I have found many and varied opportunities to experience the joy of teaching; these opportunities have primarily arisen in my roles as a college course instructor and a mentor to undergraduate students. I have taught introductory Psychology at the undergraduate level, and Research Methods at the undergraduate and graduate level. However, I have happily discovered that sharing knowledge is equally important in my roles as a therapist and a clinical scientist.

In every setting, I have found that a strong and mutually respectful relationship between the 'teacher' and the 'student' is fundamental to the learning process. I also firmly believe that I have as much to learn from my students, clients, and colleagues as they do from me. As such, my approach to teaching and mentoring is rooted in a person-centered philosophy and a commitment to beginning any teaching relationship and lesson with a discussion about the strengths, needs, and existing skills of whomever I'm working with.
