My son passed his Algebra II SOL after a few lessons with Ellen! He had struggled in this class. Wish I had set this up earlier in the year since Ellen has helped him so much!.
This was my third time taking the SAT test. Ellen and I met many times in the month prior to the test. Her style and pace of teaching were perfect for me. She gave me test day tips that were very helpful. I left the test feeling confident that my score will be much higher this time. I would highly recommend Ellen!
She made understanding the ACT grading system and Math section much easier. We really liked her and our daughter looks forward to continuing with her.
Both of my girls have benefited so much from meeting with Ellen. We first went to her for math, but she has also given the girls lots of good advice like strategies for taking the SAT and ACT, and they both improved after lessons with her. She is patient and kind and fun to talk to. We will miss her!
Some tricks when taking SATs-
She was specific with what needed to be worked on when studying for the test.
Very nice teacher
I really appreciate Ellen taking the time to talk with me, as well as her very complete and detailed lesson summaries. I feel that I know what is going on and what my daughter is working on and understanding in the tutoring session. Thank you!
Both my daughter and I feel very lucky to have found Ellen! Her teaching skills are excellent and her kind, supportive manner make her the perfect tutor for my daughter.
My daughter is having a wonderful math experience with Ellen. She received the highest GPA in math. Thank you, Ellen.
Finding the right math tutor has been challenging. They either go too slow or too fast for my son. With once a week tutoring from Ellen he has gone from a C student in Geometry to an A/B student. Ellen is very thorough and makes SURE he understands the material. Thank you so much Ellen!
Ellen clearly explains the concepts and understands what is needed. We are thankful for her time and math expertise.
My son told me he was able to benefit from the first tutoring session; the one on one attention was very helpful. We would like to continue with your assistance. Thank you.
Ellen really helped my son with his math. For the first time in three years of middle school he passed his SOL exam.
Thank you for your kind words. Let's not forget that with your encouragement your son worked hard to get ready for the SOL test! I'm glad he did well.
Very patient and excellent figuring out what the weaknesses are so that the student can focus on those areas. She is very thorough. In just three tutoring sessions we have seen a tremendous amount of self confidence develop in our son when working through Algebra. He knows that he can do the work and get it right. I can't say enough about how pleased that we have been with Ms. Ellen. For the first time ever, our son doesn't complain about having to do math and he looks forward to his tutoring sessions.
She is a wonderful tutor, and she's always willing to approach problems in different ways in order for the student to understand.
As usual, Ellen is very patient and thorough with our daughter. She also provides good feedback to us which I have found quite helpful in understanding their progress. Ellen shared perceptive insights regarding study skills and distractions that we will incorporate into a request for testing accommodations.
I loved working with Mrs. Ellen, only wish she tutored Calculus because I would definitely use her again. Ellen is very patient and easy to understand. I would highly recommend her to any student especially someone like me who has not done college math in over 13 years. You will not be disappointed.
Ellen continues to be an excellent tutor. Our child loves working with her and appreciates her help tremendously. Can't imagine using anyone else besides Ellen!!!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
