After becoming the only person to receive two scholarships to study French in France from Oxford and Cambridge University's Oxbridge Academy, I became a student at the Armand Hammer United World College of the American West(UWC-USA), a small international school in Montezuma, NM, which was home to 200 students from 92 countries and, at the time, the most selective institution in the world, accepting only 3% of applicants.
After graduating, I accepted a full academic scholarship to attend Georgetown University. There, I studied International Business and the Japanese Language, while serving as the president of Resonant Essence Live(REL), Georgetown's premier urban a cappella group.
As president of REL, I helped to coordinate our schedule and arrange music for our numerous performances, including a special Christmas performance for Vice President Joe Biden at the Vice Presidential Residence. Before graduation, I spent a year studying Japanese in Tokyo, Japan, where I taught English at a small, private school in Nerima, Tokyo.
After scoring in the 97th percentile on the LSAT, I turned down Columbia, UCLA, and UVA to accept a full academic scholarship from UC-Berkeley School of Law. After spending a summer working in the legal department of the Writers Guild of America, West, I spent a semester externing as a legal extern at the Directors Guild of America before finishing my final semester at Berkeley from which I graduated in May 2016.
I have studied the French language for over 12 years, both here in the United States and in France. I have numerous French acquaintances and many fond memories of my time spent studying in Paris and Montpellier, France.
I have always read at an exceptionally high level, and my SAT reading scores were above the 95th percentile when I applied to Georgetown University. I also scored above the 95th percentile on the SAT II Literature subject test.
I scored in the 97th percentile (top 3%percent of the country) on the LSAT, but it was my personal statement and statement of diversity that secured me a full academic scholarship to UCLA, UC-Berkeley, and UVA School of Law. I would like to use my experience both before and during law school to help other students achieve the same.
I have performed with Grammy-Award winning artists and at the Kennedy Center. I have studied music and voice for over 16 years, and I have a passion for music and teaching, which I would love to impart on other music lovers.
I have taught and been a tutor here in the United States as well as in Tokyo, Japan. Over my lifetime, I have been fortunate enough to have received almost a million dollars in academic scholarships, and I would love the opportunity to show other students how to do the same. After becoming the only person to receive two scholarships to study French in France from Oxford and Cambridge University's Oxbridge Academy, I became a student at the Armand Hammer United World College of the American West(UWC-USA), a small international school in Montezuma, NM, which was
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
