Hello. I appreciate you taking the time to read my bio. I hold a Bachelor of Sciences from VCU in Psychology, with a concentration in education. I have had the privilege of educating students for over twenty years. I have worked in both the public and private school systems. I currently work for an educational center that focuses on math, science, technology and engineering as an elementary educator. The best part of my job is that I get to make learning fun for students. If you are an elementary student in the Richmond area, I have probably taught in your school and maybe your classroom.

My tutoring style is to make learning fun, memorable, relaxed and productive. In working with students, I often find that they know the information, but they lack the ability to translate the information onto paper. No matter what subject we are focused on, I will make sure that each student has a strategy in place for studying and producing a final project. I can help build a student's confidence and self esteem by providing them with the skills needed to succeed in the classroom and beyond. I have tutored students at all grade levels in the areas of math, science, reading, grammar, and history. I develop curriculum that is taught both face to face and virtually. Each year, I develop and present Professional Development sessions for other teachers at the local and state level. I truly enjoy teaching and helping others learn.

I strongly believe in being a life-long learner; I learn something new everyday. I encourage asking questions, and I teach my students how to find the answers to those questions. During our first session, we will spend some time getting to know each other, and I will ask you a few questions to determine what you enjoy and find helpful when learning new information. For young students, we may look like we are at play, but I promise you we will be learning! No matter what your age or the subject, I will do my best to make our tutoring sessions enjoyable.

Please contact me for help in the areas of elementary core subjects, biology, physical science, grammar, writing, and psychology. I can also provide sessions for learning Microsoft applications, Google applications, Professional Presentations and integrating technology into education.

I look forward to getting to know you and helping you achieve your academic goals.
