University of Glamorgan (Maths and Computing)
I come from a long line of teachers. My tutoring experience is in mathematics, physics and computer science, where I have successfully guided middle school and high school students through the many challenges these subjects can pose. I have also run training courses for corporations in these subjects.
One of my first jobs involved writing computer assisted learning courses, developing teaching material, building library software and developing long-distance learning methods. I have continued to build on this experience since that time.
I work hard to make sure that my material is clear to students and will work with them to ensure everything is in a form that is intuitive and easy to absorb.
Feedback is always welcome and is actively encouraged. Lessons that are cancelled for any reason whatsoever will be rescheduled promptly.
Whilst I teach material that is examined, I do not teach to a specific school board curriculum. Rather, I ensure the student has a good understanding of material at the specific level. I have often found that this serves the student much better in the long run and, in the short term, makes the specific class material needed much easier to understand and follow.
My expertise in mathematics extends deep into university-level mathematics, including graph theory, set theory, group theory, category theory, calculus, geometry, linear algebra and first order logic. I graduated from university with honors in mathematics and computing. Afterwards, I was invited to join the professional society of mathematics and its applications.
I have since ensured that my knowledge of mathematics not only stays sharp but can be explained at whatever level a student needs. It is in being able to explain to people of differing ability that I can claim to understand the material I teach.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
