Whether you need help with a course in school, public speaking, writing & editing, English as a Second (or third) Language, or preparation for a standardized test, I'll be glad to offer you a Free Consultation online.

I firmly believe in the limitless potential of each and every individual. It does not matter how many times you have tried and fallen short before: determination, organization skills and just plain hard work can help you tap into your potential. Speaking in front of a crowd, writing a persuasive argument, passing a difficult course or preparing for a test like the GRE, SAT, ACT, or ASVAB can be intimidating. However, I can help you develop the individualized strategies you need to succeed.

I'm happy to coach my clients on both the strategies and the mindset they need to maximize their potential, whether it be for a speech or presentation, a test, or a publication. Since time management tends to be the biggest challenge for most of us, I share a wide variety of methods that have helped my clients develop an effective approach to meet their individual needs. Each of us has different strengths and challenges, so it is important to identify these and test a range of approaches in order for each client to find what works best. Every client receives SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Limited) goals to work on between sessions, and meeting these benchmarks regularly gets them to the primary objective: Confidence!

As a high school student, I participated in Debate Club and Model United Nations. After completing my Masters degree, I joined the Toastmasters International Club to improve my public speaking skills. Not only can I help students to prepare and be comfortable when preparing for a public speaking engagement, I can help coach them on connecting with the audience, maintaining a good cadence and eye contact, and employing humor when appropriate to regain composure.

I tutor students from grade school to graduate school, and I have found that each and every person benefits from coaching on planning and time management. Although each individual learns differently and faces a wide variety of challenges when tackling a new subject, basic time management and study skills help the student to overcome those challenges one step at a time. Many students are struggling because they are overwhelmed by increasing amounts of homework as they grow older. While some teachers DO assign too much homework, each student can learn to approach every task more efficiently and productively. I help students to look ahead in their schedules and strategically organize their time, so that they can complete their homework assignments, and approach each test feeling fully prepared, well-rested and confident.

Very Knowledgeable With Proven Results

Wow is my first word that comes to mind. When searching for a coach I read through at least a dozen of profiles. I wasn't sure what to expect or if coaching would be a good fit for me. Ruth's profile resonated with me. I have worked with Ruth in only two public speaking sessions and I can already see the difference. For starters, my confidence level has sky rocketed through the roof. Ruth's style is very eclectic and not a cookie cutter approach. I consider Ruth a part of my team that's helping me discover my voice while building my persona.

Helping me improve verbal GRE

Ruth is awesome! She is very kind, easy to talk to, positive, and very knowledgeable for GRE and for me - GRE verbal. I have connected with her for GRE verbal, and she has lots of experience with it, so she can really dig deep on a question format to help me with understand it and master it. Most of all, she is sincere and positive, and makes you feel like you can accomplish anything!

Patient, enthusiastic, engaging

Ruth has been helping me with my quantitative section for the GRE, and I am so pleased with her assistance! She is patient, takes the time to explain everything, is knowledgeable, and makes the learning fun. I was nervous to find a tutor because I felt like I had no idea what I was doing, but she makes me feel comfortable to ask any questions and go over anything I didn't understand. I highly recommend working with her!

Excellent tutor!!

Her rigid strategy and clear explanation help improve my understanding!! Before I met her, I felt desperate for my GRE. Since I am an ESL student, I had no idea how to deal with this super difficult exam. She is enthusiasm for motivating students to solve difficult questions effectively. I appreciate her kind words to push me forward.
