Agnes is an excellent instructor! She is very patient and makes the tutoring session truly enjoyable. She helps by providing positive feedback and is always able to clear up any confusion whether it be grammar, pronunciation, or vocabulary. She also is able to offer corrections in a very gentle way. It is clear that she has lots of experience as a French instructor. Additionally, she is an extremely kind & accommodating person. She is kind as she is knowledgeable in the French language - and as a native of France, her knowledge is immense. Excellent!!!
Today was my first lesson and Agnes put me at ease right away. We started with greetings, then started on some grammar. It was fun to see the basics of French begin to unfold. I'm more motivated than ever to keep going!
I wanted to improve my confidence with speaking as well as learn more about French politics and culture, so Agnes found relevant articles that we would read together and then discuss afterwards. She is wonderful to talk to and I highly recommend her. I will be continuing lessons to maintain my French skills.
Agnes is so so kind and helpful. I feel like I learn so much during each of our sessions and I leave feeling closer to my over all goal to be fluent in French. She's obviously qualified and very knowledgeable. I look forward to each of our weekly sessions.
My daughter liked the lesson very much. They did some reading, talking. She is looking forward to the next lesson.
I enjoy learning French, and I enjoy good conversation. My lessons with Agnes are a pleasure in both respects. I highly recommend her to anyone who enjoys practicing and improving their French, at any level whatsoever.
Agnes is very patient and supportive. She gives our son the right level of instruction which has helped him improve greatly since the lessons started.
Agnes knows the French language that is for sure! She helps with understanding vocabulary, the novels social/historical context, the author, and how the story of the book is unfolding. This text is very hard to understand, and I am not a beginner, but Agnes helps get at the nuance and the underlying characters' motives and quirks. A funny story ... truly fun to read and discuss in French! Great session.
Agnes' tutoring style suits me really well as she is attentive to details and explains nuances of language. Lessons are well structured with emphasis on speaking and practical application. I like that she takes time to prepare for each lesson and adjust them based on my needs. Study facilities are also great.
She responded very fast to email and we were able to set up a tutoring session with a couple of days!
I happened upon WyzAnt as I was searching for a french tutor. Let's be honest it is IMPOSSIBLE to become fluent in a language without having someone to talk with. You can spend hours with CD, DVD, video, and a microphone feeding back your own voice, but there is no substitute for interaction with a native speaker who has the technical skills to teach the language. The world may have gone digital but the acquisition of language is still analog. I am fortunate to have found Agnus J. I would highly recommend her as a French language teacher.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am certified by the DAEFLE, a diploma of the Alliance Francaise. I have seven years of experience, teaching adults and kids. I worked for American Embassies and an American school abroad.
