I desire to utilize my myriad of teaching experiences as an Arctic wilderness guide, expedition leader, and volunteer science teacher as a tutor. I am most certain my wide array of experiences teaching scientists and tourists alike about arctic ecology would benefit anyone who is in need of a tutor.

As a recent graduate of Randolph College’s English program, I have furthered my critical thinking skills and my ability to communicate effectively. I wrote a 50 page senior paper about my experiences in the Arctic wilderness of Greenland as an expedition leader, for which I was awarded the Best Senior Paper in the spring of 2015. I’ve also volunteered to work with local school at Randolph College’s annual Science Festival where I taught children about the natural world by developing lesson plans and engaging activities which made them want to learn. I’ve also taught adults and youth alike basic skills in backpacking, hiking, and wilderness readiness. Furthermore, as a guide in the arctic wilderness I’ve taught international groups of adults, ranging from scientists to tourists, about the ecosystem and the challenges it is faces currently.

I would enthusiastically welcome the opportunity to tutor anyone who is in need of furthering their education. Working with students through WyzAnt would greatly enrich my desire to teach and work with students wanting to hone their over all skills in reading, writing, communicating, and overall reasoning skills.

As an adult student and recent graduate of Randolph College, I have had a myriad of worldwide experiences with writing, teaching, traveling, and educating people about the fragile arctic ecosystem. I have witnessed firsthand the melting of the Arctic and wish to write and teach more people about it.

I had a quite inspiring English teacher my sophomore year of high school who taught me the value of literature and writing. I’ve always wanted to inspire and enthuse others, adults and youth alike, about the deep value English literature portends.
