I'm experienced largely with adult learners but also minor children. I'm a semi-retired college professor with decades of experience teaching business to traditional college age freshmen, sophomores and upperclassmen, including return learners at major four-year universities and community colleges. Also experienced tutoring minor children.
I am equipped to teach test preparation because I have taught GMAT Prep classes and also taught Career Development as a Cooperative Education coordinator for six years.
My undergraduate and graduate degrees are both in Finance with a second undergraduate major in Business-Economics. I've taught business for decades, including 10 years full-time at two major four-year universities, locally in Virginia and also Ohio.
Learners will appreciate my style, which is friendly and patient. Having experience teaching all ages and understanding everyone's learning styles all differ, I'm flexible enough to help any willing learner grasp business subjects. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business-Economics and Finance at Miami University, Oxford, OH.
I also earned a graduate degree (MBA) in Finance two years later. I financed graduate school with a Graduate Assistantship, assisting 3 Finance professors, one of whom had me grade numerous papers about Case Problems in Corporate Finance, which they hired me to teach upon graduations. My teaching experience spans 3 decades, of which 10 years is full-time teaching at the University of Cincinnati (Ohio) and Liberty University (VA).
Similar to my rationale for teaching "Business," I have both a BS and an MBA in Business and experience as a Cooperative Education Coordinator which required teaching a Career Development class called: "Professional Development" (PD). The PD course required every student to interview twice and, of course, write resumes, cover letters and thank you letters. And, as a prerequisite to both interviews, we examined personal values and studied the 16 Myers Briggs Personality Types (I'm an ENFJ - dubbed by some as "The Teacher").
