Over the years, my career goals have changed. I have had a variety of experiences and developed skills that relate to communication, behavioral change, writing, educating, and speaking. I earned a PhD degree in professional psychology and have taught at various college classes in Psychology in California. Presently, I teach a class in Psychology for a community college.
I have a background in Philosophy and Religion. I have in the past taught classes in Ethics. I have had experience in writing and I have published a book entitled,"Living With Stress." I presently hold a California Community College Teaching Certificate in Religion, Philosophy, and Psychology.
Although I am older, I am still young at heart and enjoy the outdoors and such activities as skiing, hiking, and boating. In my quite, I often read and/or write. I do enjoy sharing ideas and concepts that are important in living and communication. My past experiences can bring the wisdom gained from past learning experience.
I believe in whatever field you work in, you need emotional intelligence. Ideas should stimulate us to find the joy in living.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I studied the Bible in undergraduate school and also taught Bible classes for 20 some years.
At one time I owned a reading clinic that taught students to read. This involved the use of phonetics. We taught all ages, but mostly primary children in reading skill that involved phonetics. Occasionally, we helped with basic math skills. Teaching involved writing and spelling skills.
Also, I have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren that I have assisted them in their classwork.
I have had experience speaking before crowds of people. I have been a speaker at conferences. I also had 20 years of public speaking experience as a minister.
I was a minister for 20 years. I also received a REL D from Graduate
School of Theology - Claremont, CA, 1967.
I have taught Sociology at DeVry, Long Beach, CA on a college level.
Well, I made it through grade school and college with great grades. I have studied psychology and taught courses on learning theories, memory problems,and motivation.
Studies skills begins with motivation and then a basic understanding of how the brain works in learning and memory.
