Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am someone who believes that when you tutor, you help others succeed. My goal as a tutor is to guide you to the point of not needing a tutor. Throughout my own personal experiences, I learned that people have different learning styles and I can adapt my teaching in order to promote learning. I intend to help students succeed by creating a positive environment that fosters learning. By emphasizing organization and establishing structured routines, I will be able to help students grow and achieve their goals.
My first encounter as a tutor began as an undergraduate student in Computer Information Systems. I began tutoring my classmates as well as my coworkers. Since that time, I have enjoyed tutoring and hope that any student that I tutor will succeed. I bring extensive experience working with Microsoft Office applications and a variety of other subjects.

She explained MS Word and walked me through the process very patiently. She came in prepared with hand-outs and her lesson was very thorough.
Today was the first day Carol came for a lesson and it went great. She helped my brother with reading comprehension and some math problems for his test tomorrow! My brother enjoys her teaching style and is looking forward to his next lesson!
Thank you Carol!!
She's teaching me math for the ASVAB. I like that she always come with assignments for me to learn or go over. She's giving me a refresher course in math, which is really helpful. I know the help from her will boost my score.
I appreciate Carol's ability to instruct and review with my son to ensure he has a thorough grasp of the material covered. She builds his confidence by having him not only apply the concepts taught but also explain them to reinforce his understanding.
I contacted Carol last minute to help me with PowerPoint issues for a project for my class. She immediately got back with me and met me the next day. Carol was so helpful in breaking down each part where it begin to seem easy. Her gentle approach and great knowledge of providing helpful shortcuts increased my confidence level. I am so glad I found her. I will definitely use her again!
My daughter says she enjoys working with Carol and looks forward to working with her in the future. Granted were just getting started but I can tell that this is something that will last for some time and with great results.

Carol dived right into the math lesson upon arrival. She understood the challenges my son was having and worked with him on how to recognize what the math questions are asking before trying to solve the problem. She is very knowledgeable and patient. Upon completion of our first tutoring session, Carol gave us her plan of action on how she can help get our son focused and on the right track. I feel confident that this will be a great experience for my son.
Carol is a great tutor. She was very thorough and patient. I highly recommend her to others. She was also very prompt and professional.
Amazing. Tutored my 9-year old 4th grader in math (fractions to be exact). Day 1 went very well. Prompt arrival and dived right in. Great attitude and patience. Can't wait to see what else happens with Math.....READING is up next so stay TUNED!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My first encounter as a tutor began as an undergraduate student in Computer Information Systems using the Macintosh and Windows computers. I have used Macintosh and Windows computers and can teach, train, and navigate students who are making the transition from using Windows computers. I would be happy to assist students to become familiar with the Macintosh computer.
I'm glad for the opportunity to offer my services in Microsoft Access as I am a 20+ year professional who has this software application in my work environment in multiple office settings from concept to completion. I obtained a Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems from Strayer University graduating Magna Cum Laude. I would like to pass my experience and knowledge in Microsoft Access to people of all ages interested in learning something new.
