Donna has been giving reading and writing lessons to my 6 year old son. She is always on time and brings various materials that are very helpful. She is patient and is able to work with my son’s pace of learning. She makes learning fun. I am confident my son will be in a higher level by the end of summer. I strongly recommend Donna.
Taught my 4 year old son how to write his full name. Also, taught him how to use scissors. Those are two important things to learn in preparation for kindergarten.
Donna is a wonderful tutor! She is friendly, prompt and effectively communicates with me as the parent. With my son, she is very patient, She helps him stay on task, and provides fun reading games he loves! When we started, my son was reading at a beginning first grade level and was going into the second grade. With Donna's help he is now ready for the second grade and he is reading like I have never seen before! Thanks Donna you are the best!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have been a handwriting instructor for the past 3 years in the Prince William County School system.
We use Handwriting Without Tears as our basic instruction.
This instruction involves the use of songs, curved and straight boards, chalk board and chalk, and a wet sponge. It uses many manipulatives that increase hand-eye coordination and increases memorization of the skills.
The premise is all letters start at the top regardless of upper or lower case. There are main letters, such as C, that are used to teach other letters such as a, d, g, o, and q.
The skills are easily learned by children 4-10 years old.
I have taught P.A.L.S., Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening, in the Prince William County School system for the past 3 years.
