I'm a Christian, a husband, and a father. I've been employed as a scientist and a software developer for the past 11 years. I have a PhD in physics and love explaining the principles of mathematics, physics, and computer programming.
I'm also a musician. I've played piano and trumpet consistently for over 30 years. I play and sing regularly in church, and I'm in an 11-piece Motown-style band that plays in the Fredericksburg area.
I'm patient and encouraging with students who want to learn.

I was in a huge bind with a big statistics project. I contacted John and within a few days we met and he had prepped on the assignment and did an excellent job explaining it. I cannot express my gratitude for his help. Completely worth every penny. This guy was born to teach. Some tutors are great at the subjects, but cannot convey the information to others. John has mastered the ability to convey very difficult concepts by breaking it down. If you want to understand a concept for any of his subjects of expertise; get him. I don't give compliments lightly. He deserves it!
John is a great tutor, he's very patient and for someone like me who hasn't had to take a math class in over 25 years that is saying a lot. This Financial Management class is a requirement for my Master's degree and although it was difficult and a bit intimidating, John worked with me and took it very slow, step by step to ensure I understood the material. The end result was an A on the Mid-term exam.
I'm confident that my over all grade for the class will be an A as well. None of this would have been possible without his tutoring. I was somewhat skeptical in the beginning, but I'm very please with my decision to go with John as tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
