My name is Art and I currently attend Virginia Commonwealth University. First 21 years of my life lived in Belarus where studied English as my second language. I was majoring in English-Russian translation in Belarusian State University before I moved to the U.S. with my wife. I used to tutor English to my nieces in Belarus.
Today I am willing to find a full time employment in the sphere of international relations and use my knowledge and experience to improve the relations between American and Russian community by better educating citizens on the peculiarities of the two countries. I hate to often see prejudice and dislike between Russian and American community. My career goal would be to smooth opinions of the two nations, if not on governmental level then at least on the level of local communities, families, or just individuals. I want to be able to provide for my family by fulfilling the goal setting described above.
I am a native speaker with four years of majoring in Russian-English translation on the faculty of International Affairs in BSU. I am interested in getting more experience in the field of tutoring in order to improve my skills.
I am a student by myself and understand how important and useful for the learning process the help of somebody knowledgeable in the subject can be. I used help from tutors several times in my life and their assistance helped me to meet my short term goals. I would like that my knowledge help others to success as well. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a native Russian-speaker. During 2006-2010 I completed a Bachelor's equivalent degree in Belarusian State University majoring in English-Russian translation. In 2015 I scored 962 points in Russian proficiency test at Virginia Commonwealth University, USA. My VCU coursework on Russian includes the following subjects: Classic Russian Fiction, National Cinema: Russia, and Russian Literature and Culture. I am also volunteering as an ESL tutor for the Marywood apartment complex Russian community in Richmond, VA.
