Marguerite is meeting our rising first-grader to help her with phonics and writing, and while only a couple of session have happened, our daughter is initiating talking to us about phonics, and has been trying to "teach" us what words start and end with. She used to hate anything to do with them because she felt like she didn't get it and didn't want to talk about it. Now she is pointing out things and telling us what they start with. This in of itself is a huge improvement!

Marguerite is one of the best tutors I have seen in action. She was able to provide my son with outstanding help through her ability to provide materials that target the weaknesses of the student and help them improve. Marguerite has been working with my daughter in preparing her for her upcoming SAT. She has taken the test twice and felt that working with a tutor (one on one) would increase her chances of bringing up her test score. Marguerite has been great - teaching her how to read the questions and pick which ones she should attempt to answer and which ones not to bother. My daughter feels more confident in her preparation of the test and we are looking forward to seeing the results. I was skeptical in finding a tutor online, but Marguerite has been wonderful, especially working with my daughter's busy schedule - I would highly recommend her.
I hired Marguerite to help my son prepare for the written and verbal sections of the SAT. Marguerite reviewed my son’s first SAT results and identified his strengths and weaknesses and came up with a plan of action for preparing for the next SAT.
Marguerite was structured and detailed in the tutoring sessions. She came prepared with an agenda for each tutoring session and identified things for my son to focus on during the week. She provided my son with valuable tips and techniques for taking the SAT that should help earn a better score on the next test.

Mrs. L is incredibly experienced in the subject of language arts due to the number of years she has spent in an IB English classroom. She can easily clarify any facet of language arts that your child is having trouble with in school. She is also an excellent tutor for the English portions of the SAT test, including both the critical reading and writing sections. She can help your teenager decipher the seemingly complex SAT questions so they can identify the type of question they are answering and exactly how to attack it. I would definitely recommend the instruction of Mrs. L, her unique teaching style of simplifying questions that serve to confuse students help to build your child's English comprehensive skills and also build confidence in your child for continuous improvement in the subject. She will contribute a lot to any age of child struggling with any literary concepts, from elementary grammar schools for little children to literary analysis for high school students and also once again SAT writing and critical reading sections.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Although I am a certified 8-12 professional, I have many years of experience in tutoring elementary students in various subjects. I have worked individually with kindergarten through high school-aged children of all ability levels, from gifted to special needs and non-native English speakers, including experience with an enrichment program for children identified by No Child Left Behind.
