If you are interested in a tutor with extensive experience teaching English as a Second Language to all age levels: from the very young to adults and Language- Arts/Reading/Writing preK-12, please contact me. My aim is always to raise the achievements of my pupils beyond their own expectations with fun, challenging and rewarding lessons.
I have a Masters of Education and a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and have taught ESL pre-K to adults for over 15 years in multiple settings: public school, a private language company, and in the workplace - and always with a single mission: to improve the opportunities, life circumstances, and academic outcomes for all students.
I have also tutored and subbed in all content areas at the elementary level (k-5) for the past ten years.
I am happy to travel up to 10 miles from my home and am currently available every day from 9am to 7pm and will consider weekends.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught ESL at the elementary and middle school levels for ten years. The method of instruction included not only pulling the students out for individualized instruction, but also "pushing in" to the mainstream classroom. In the mainstream classrooms, I helped to support the ESL student and differentiate the content of instruction being taught, K-6.
Further, I have subbed at the elementary level this past year at every grade level: K-5.
I hold a Masters of Education from the University of Mary Washington and am very confident that my educational background and professional experience prove my qualifications to tutor students at the elementary level.
