Hello! My name is Anthony, though my family and friends call me Tony. I have a Bachelor's of Arts in Modern Languages and Literatures, with an emphasis in French; I am also proficient in basic German. My electives in college consisted mainly of Literature, History and Socio-Cultural studies, all of which further developed themes explored through my foreign language coursework. While in college, I was the French Club tutoring coordinator, where I helped several students increase passive and active language skills. I was also a private French tutor, and received endorsements from my French teachers.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading books, primarily non-fiction. I mainly read History, Sociology, and Cultural Studies. I further these books' themes in a blog I write, which explores the politics of identity in our post-1960's American cultural landscape. Otherwise, I enjoy hiking, swimming, and (of course) watching TV.

I have a combined total of 13 months Study Abroad experience- 10 months in France during High School, and 3 months at the University of Geneva's School of Translation and Interpretation. While at the University of Geneva, I took, and received full credit for graduate courses in translation and literature. During my 11th Grade study abroad experience, I received a passing score on the Baccalaureat exam in French literature, with a perfect 20/20 on the Oral Exam, designed for French high school students. I also left college with a score of Advanced-Mid on the ACTFL College Exit exam.

During the course of my secondary and post-secondary education, I was exposed to a litany of writing styles, and academic disciplines related to linguistic expression. I am well trained in English grammar, general linguistics, and the basics of literary analysis- all of which are highly relevant to a meaningful understanding of English coursework.

To supplement my training in literary analysis, I chose electives in college that would provide the material groundwork for pertinent, original interpretation. To this end, I focused, when possible, on Modern European History. In addition, I do personal research on the politics of identity after the 1960s, and so am familiar with themes of race, enfranchisement, and property ownership as relate to the dynamics of power in the United States.
