In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught and/or tutored Algebra II for over 30 years. It is my favorite math course!
Also, my students have had great success on classroom and standardized state tests. I have acquired a skills base of unique methods of having students learn difficult concepts in this course.
The ASVAB test includes math from elementary through second year Algebra. I have taught high school Algebra for 35 years and still basically the same thing at the community college level.
I receive exemplary comments and evaluations from my students. Also I am a people person and can almost find a way to relate to anyone.
I try to work with ASVAB students not only on math but test taking strategies related to the ASVAB test in particular.
I am fully qualified to teach math at all levels. I have a BS degree in Math with an overall GPA of 3.6. Also, I have been a successful math teacher of over 40 years now- having taught/tutored at all levels -elementary through community college level.
I enjoy working with students of all ages and have always received exemplary evaluations from my students. I am a people person and can usually relate to almost anyone. I am a person with a positive outlook on life and show this to all.
I am more than qualified to instruct students for their GED exam. I had a double major in college in math and history, but I also had a cumulative GPA of 3.6. I was a feature editor for our college newspaper and I sponsored our Forensics Club at the high school level for many years. I think I have a very diverse background which could be very helpful for students working on their GED.
I have taught Geometry for over 30 years- both as a high school teacher and now as an instructor at our local community college.
Also, I have written questions for our state math exam in this course. I know Geometry!
I have taught Algebra for over 30 years. With Prealgebra there is a concentrated emphasis on basic math functions with a limited introduction to Algebraic concepts. I would first work with a student to make sure he/she knows fundamental skills in general math and then apply it to some limited Algebra concepts.
