She is very thoughtful and plans interesting lessons and caters to your specific needs. And is just wonderful to be around. I'm never disappointed by her lesson plans.
Marina is an exceptional teacher who plans detailed and challenging lesson. You learn a great deal and the time flies.
A great tutor we were waiting for! Very professional and knowledgeable. The first 2 lessons were related to English alphabet, grammar basics, more focus was put (upon our request) on present indefinite tense. My daughter is looking forward to upcoming lessons with Marina! Thank you very much for helping us find a great tutor.
I desperately needed to improve my Russian conversational skills, and I was somewhat in despair because none of the official, academic language programs I had wanted to attend ended up working out. But it must have been fate, because then I found Marina, who was a far better teacher than I would have had in the other programs. Every day, without fail, she had new, interesting articles/stories to read, new questions to ask, and new cultural info to provide. She was patient with my faltering Russian, but made sure to challenge me to learn and use new words, and she didn't oversimplify her own language when she spoke. And though I still have a long way to go, I am now much more confident that when I go to Russia, I will be able to comprehend the world around me and make myself understood--which is exactly what I wanted. But equally importantly, I really enjoyed learning from Marina. She is a truly kind, patient, and gentle human being, and while I may have only gone to her to learn Russian, I ended up also learning so much about what's important in life. I am a better person for having met her, and I would recommend her to anyone in need of a Russian tutor or a life coach! Spacibo, Marina Vladimirovna! Bcego dobrogo.
Marina is a great instructor. I've been taking Russian lessons with her for over 10 weeks now. She is always very well prepared for our lessons, customizes them to my interests and language needs, and varies the style of exercises and instruction. She has very good understanding of how to teach, and is a great motivator for learning the language. Our lessons cover specific interests, grammar drills, pop culture, literature, art, science, and everything in between. I highly recommend Marina as a tutor!
Marina has been tutoring my 5-year-old in Russian for about 10 months now. Her performance has been outstanding! She utilizes the teaching techniques that maintain my child's focus on the task for an hour at a time. She changes activities as soon as his attention starts wandering and keeps him interested throughout the whole lesson. Her lessons are always diverse and incorporate reading, listening, play and crafts. She is always well-prepared for the lessons, and my son loves her and looks forward to every lesson. I provide the highest recommendation to this dedicated and knowledgeable teacher.
Marina has been my tutor since the end of August and I could not be happier. She is extremely knowledgeable of both the English and Russian language. Not only did I choose one of the hardest languages to learn but I am also taking college courses right now so I don't commit as much time as I should to learning. Even though, she is extremely patient with me and will sometimes review the same subject until you understand. She provides handouts and suggests the right books to purchase that even a little kid could learn; because technically that's how you will have to begin. She also works around your schedule and can meet as many, or as few times as you want. I highly recommend her for anyone wanting to learn Russian.
Marina is a trained tutor, which brings a element of fun, understanding and patience to each lesson. She has a wealth of knowledge which she can rely to the student in a very effective way. Her pace and approach is geared to her student's level of understanding and ability.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
