I am a full-time computational physicist with the navy in aerothermochemistry. I am also an adjunct professor for NVCC. I have been tutoring students for many years and have a good understanding where the roadblocks are and the workarounds they are sometimes forced to employ. I use this stuff every day at work and can help explain difficult concepts from many different perspectives. I often find that students are much closer to their goals than they know, and usually need some carefully focused direction to get over their hurdles. I truly enjoy helping motivated students.

As a computational physicist I have been involved in some exciting navy research programs and hopefully my experiences will help motivate my students with the amazing potential applications of the subjects they're learning. I write compute code in various languages, which will help demonstrate difficult concepts to students in a way that their teachers can't usually duplicate.

I'll encourage students to reach out during the week when they have problems with a particular problem and need a little extra help. I'm happy to invest my own time by writing out solutions in great detail for better comprehension or by writing small programs to help a student understand the dynamics of an equation.

I have a doctor of science degree in computational physics (2008) from The George Washington University and an MBA from George Mason University (2015).

Don't suffer. Call me and let me help you get past any bottlenecks and hurdles.

Chemical Engineering

I have a Sc.D. in computational physics with a focus on aerothermochemistry. My dissertation dealt with multiphase reactions of aluminum, with heat transfer occurring vie conduction, convection, and radiation. The unique nature of aluminum combustion, particularly the products of combustion, required consideration of the phase-equilibria. In addition, in grad school I studied classical and statistical thermodynamics.

Knowledgeable and Patient Tutor

Thomas taught me advanced Excel Functions. He is very kind, patient and knowledgeable. He taught me multiple ways to approach my problem. He reviewed both the functions and the thought process which allows me to reach solutions on my own in the future. I very much recommend him as a tutor for advanced and challenging subjects. He was willing to travel and meet in person at a coffee shop. We went right to work and accomplished a lot more than I expected. I would definitely request him as a tutor in the future and recommend him to others.

Fantastic Tutor!

My daughter regularly sees Thomas for Physics help. Thomas has an easy-going demeanor that is helpful when breaking down complicated problems in physics and is always well-prepared for tutoring sessions. My daughter is so much more confident in class with Thomas' help, and as a result her grades have been phenomenal this semester after regular sessions with Thomas. We are all very pleased.

Patient and smart tutor

I liked how if I didn't understand a concept, he would go back and show it again in a different format that made more sense. He was flexible about the time to meet, and was able to meet on short notice.

Dana, 1 lesson with Thomas

Knowledgeable and patient-tutor

Thomas is a very good knowledgeable tutor and he helped my son with his Algebra one in very short noticed. Also he knows how to deal with his students and make them to understand in an easy way to learning.

Najib, 3 lessons with Thomas

Knowledgeable and highly effective tutor

This is my daughter's 2nd meeting with Thomas for AP Statistics - she has gone from struggling (for the past 4 months in class) to almost completely caught up, in just 2 sessions. Thomas explains things in a clear and easy to understand way - its been a great experience for her.

Eve, 6 lessons with Thomas

Great teaching style & knowledgeable

Thomas was very quick to respond & scheduled my daughter last minute. He is caring, knowledgeable. He helped my daughter on her chem lab & to study for a test. My daughter was impressed with his teaching style & focus. We will use Thomas from now forward. So glad that we've found him!!!!
