I am currently a clinical therapist working in the Falls Church area. I graduated about 1.5 years ago with my Masters in Social Work. I will be starting my supervision for licensure in the upcoming days to obtain my LCSW (License in Social Work). As an undergraduate I studied as a Biology major before realizing that I loved Psychology. My course load included psychology, calculus, organic chemistry, biology, physiology, and many classes in English. I enjoy tutoring because I find it fun to watch others learn and also accomplish what they thought they were not smart enough to do. I am able to do online tutoring through Skype for those busy students!

Rachael arrived a few minutes early to our initial session so we could get acquainted. She is very personable and our daughter seemed to worked very well her. The lesson was scheduled for 60 mins but they were so engaged in the math session we expanded to 90 mins! Together we talked of a plan to tackle the 7th grade SOL and Rachael will prepare those lessons as well provide any assistance required with math homework throughout the remaining school year. All in all a productive first lesson!!
Rachael has been helping my daughter, who has had a difficulty with Math, prepare for the GED test. She is helping my daughter step by step fill in the gaps of what she needs to prepare for the test.
Rachael seems to know how to tutor in several different subjects, including, how to improve study skills. Also, Rachael has a great personality that young people can feel comfortable around.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
