My name is Kolter and I am a die-hard photographer. I live and breathe through the viewfinder of my camera. In fact, I am pretty sure I was almost killed recently while I was hiking at night to shoot a lake at sunrise. My imagination had me completely convinced that there was a plethora of deadly beasts just waiting to devour me should I turn off the protective beam of my flashlight.
I work as a hotel and model home photographer for the popular real estate photography provider RTV.
Also, I frequently accompany and assist DC photographer Duane Lempke.
I studied photography under the training of (as mentioned above) Duane Lempke.
My teaching method is as follows: Hands on. In the field. (or marsh or forest etc)
1. DO IT!!!!!!!
I will accompany you on photographic excursions. Through one on one instruction I can teach and demonstrate the necessary steps to becoming a photographer. I can explain all the nuances of photography but like driving a car, you can't do it until you do it. Now, this is not to say that one should just run around taking snappies of everything that moves. There really is a thought process that must be followed.
2. Your camera has nothing to do with it.
Rather than go into a rant about equipment and its perceived magical abilities to make you into a photographer, I will simply refer you to point number 2.
3. Please refer to point number 2.
4. If you already went out and spent the kids' college funds on a new camera, I will be happy to show you how it works.
My passion for photography grew from the time that I received a dinky little plastic film camera at the age of 10. I received two rolls of film (never developed) and a big box full of batteries. After having the camera for only a few weeks I decided to test EVERY single battery in the big box by putting them in my camera releasing the shutter. I am happy to announce that all the batteries did indeed work, but my camera really took a beating. It gave up the ghost shortly thereafter.
I love photography and you will too!!!
Its always great to hear people ask "did you REALLY take that photo?" Digital Photography Only

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
