In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated from Chemistry Department of Selcuk University and my graduation thesis was about analysis of saturated (margarine and butter) and unsaturated fat (olive, sunflower seed etc...) by HPLC. I also did research about nature of water and prepared textbook including different view points of water such as history, chemistry, and structure of it. Additionally, I took Physics, Mathematics, Organic, Inorganic, food, industry, radical, and environmental Chemistry, bio-chemistry and Physic-Chemistry, Atom and Molecule Structure, technology and science, electrochemistry classes, and their lab classes. Moreover, I did my graduate studies in analytical chemistry at Selcuk university to Voltametric Analysis of Oxidation Reaction of Aminoanthraquinone, a specific organic compound. I was awarded with a scholarship by Selcuk University for having the one of the best GPA.
Then, I married and moved to the US where I have been living for the last six years. I completed the Alternative Licensure Program offered by SFCC to have a secondary science teacher license and I have received some certificates from STEM, New Mexico Education Outreach Program such as, Project Management of Educators, Human Protection In Student Research, 2012-2013 SRC/IRB Local Committee Workshop.
And I worked as a science teacher and math and science tutor in different cities.
I taught ESL to Turkish students for one year. We studied vocabulary, reading, grammar, speaking, listening and conversation by using various resources. Talking point topics, skill based ESL, book reviewing worksheets are examples. During the whole semester, students made progress in reading, understanding and listening comprehensively. They improved their speaking in the discussion sections where all students participated in.
I have taken 16 hours organic chemistry and 19 hours elective lab classes.
I am from Turkey so my first language is Turkish. I have been a Turkish Teacher for 3 years.I am so confident in teaching this language.
