If you are looking for a patient, knowledgeable math tutor, who can help you master any level of math (middle school/high school/college), please contact me. I have many years of teaching experience, and I can help you learn with useful tips and tricks to help you understand even the most complex problems. I have graduate degrees from UCLA (M.Sc., Ph.D. in Engineering), and I have worked as an engineer, but my first love is teaching.
I am licensed to teach math (middle school, high school) in Virginia. I passed the Praxis II Mathematics Test (Content Knowledge) in April of 2010 with a score that ranks within the top 15% of all test takers who took the assessment in previous years. I can tutor in a multitude of subjects including but not limited to Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Geometry and Statistics. I can also tutor students in higher level math and engineering classes.
I am bilingual in English and Spanish, and can teach students in both languages. I enjoy working with people of all different backgrounds and cultures, and can work with students of all ages.

I have not taken a calculus class for a few years, so when I switched majors and found out that i had to take yet another advanced calculus class..it was a bit stressful. Can say I was more than a bit lost on the first day of class having to relearn quite a bit. Felipe has been a great tutor and a lot of help. Brings extra practice problems to go over material, I've been struggling with. Very patient and goes slowly step by step (explains each step, unlike my current teacher who is on a time deadline in a class of 35 students) to make sure I finally understand the material. Class is still stressful since I am covering 3 months of material in 5 weeks, but Felipe is helping me greatly to understand the material and making it more manageable. Highly recommend!
Felipe has a lot of knowledge about what he's teaching, gives examples, and lets the student do some exercises, and that's what a student should do in order to have a better understanding of the material. You did a good job Felipe! Thanks.
Felipe G. is an excellent tutor of Trigonometry for my high school son. He is patient and explains concepts well. My son feels that he gets a lot from the sessions. I would recommend him highly to anyone seeking math help.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught AutoCAD every semester since 2011.
I am currently teaching Calculus. I have taught Calculus for several years. I have taught Calc I AB and BC, Calc II and Calc III (multivariate Calculus). I can also help you to prepare for the Calculus AP exam.
I have taught Linear Algebra since 2011. This is a college course and we follow the same curriculum as a local University. The book we use is Introduction Linear Algebra by David C. Lay. I can provide and endless amount of exercises (with solutions) in most of the topics.
I have been using Microsoft Excel, almost daily, for more than 17 years. I am familiar with advanced features and applications. I have worked and developed macros to automatize specific tasks that were required in some projects.
I have been using Microsoft PowerPoint, almost daily, for more than 17 years. I am familiar with advanced features and applications. As a teacher, PowerPoint is one of my most important tools for classes.
I am currently teaching Precalculus. I have taught Precalculus for several years. I have plenty of materials that I can offer to the student.
Trigonometry is a fundamental module of mathematics. As an Engineer and now as a Math Teacher, I work with trigonometry all the time. I have taught Precalculus and Calculus for several years, which include trigonometry and trigonometric functions.
