I am primarily a K-6th grade reading/writing tutor, especially for ESOL students. I have been a teacher assistant in a public school in Prince William County for the past 10 years. I was previously an ESOL assistant for 2 years. Overall, I have worked in the public school setting for 13 years. My English writing/proofreading, reading, and speaking skills are excellent. I love working with students one-on-one or in small groups. I am very calm and patient and will help you based on your individual learning style. I also speak some Spanish. I have been a WyzAnt tutor for 4.5 years.

We like Laura, she has helped my daughter a lot. We recommend her to anyone who would like to use her services.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My qualifications and experience to tutor elementary students (in addition to having a BA degree), includes 3 years as a substitute in K-5th grade, 2 years teaching ESL students, 5 years as a Kindergarten Instructional Assistant, and 5 years tutoring students with Wyzant.
