I'm passionate about math and science. I scored in the top 2 percent for the SAT Math and scored 4's and 5's for all of the STEM AP tests. I have helped neighbors with their college math assignments in the past. I enjoy problem-solving and regularly get into academic discussions. The summer of 20187 I was an intern at the Autonomy Incubator at NASA Langley, with the task to build a rover to transport a robotic arm around an arena. I regularly help my brother (in 9th grade) with his homework and try to help him make connections between problems to make it easier. Currently, I assist my friends with learning computer science, JAVA. They also go to UVA and I'm trying to help them get a better grasp on the material. I am currently enrolled at the University of Virginia in the School of Engineering and Applied Science as a junior studying mechanical engineering. Next year as a senior I plan to finish up my ungrad requirements and start taking classes for my graduate degree, also in mechanical engineering.
When helping students I aim to help them recognize the patterns that can be connected to the different problems. Many people treat every problem as something different and foreign but in my experience, everything is connected and can be solved using a basic set of knowledge by recognizing the patterns. By simplifying the problems and helping students expand their thought process that allows them to break down complicated problems into more manageable problems
I have excelled in all engineering courses I have taken and feel comfortable with the material enough to break down the problems and concepts. I previously helped teach AP Calculus BC at a local high school and teach them that everything in the course relates so that the knowledge gained in one unit then helps you in another unit.
Willing to meet at the location of your choice and will adapt my lessons to help you the best. Look forward to helping you with your education. My hours listed are not the only hours I am available just the ones for when I know am a
