I have served in the military for 10 years, the past five as an officer and commander of a National Guard unit. I'm a certified counselor in Virginia and have experience working with various clients suffering from ADHD, autism, substance abuse, and anxiety. I am a certified Army Basic Instructor, which qualifies me to teach classes and training for the Army and National Guard. I also tutored for two years while I was in college, the enjoyment of which led me to becoming a counselor after I graduated.
I also lived in Peru for one year while doing research at a university there. This experience gave me a lot of knowledge in learning languages and communicating with diverse groups of people. As a tutor and counselor, clients have consistently rated me as being an excellent listener, coach, and talent for explaining difficult concepts.
With my background in logic and business, math has always been the foundation on which I built all of my other skills. Although never using math professionally (except on special occasions in the Army), I found that math builds problem solving skills that gives one the ability to become an expert in any subject.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
