I am currently working on my dissertation in Public Service Leadership, Criminal Justice. I have 18 years of law enforcement experience with 19 years of additional service as a civil investigator under the Virginia Consumer Protection Act. I am an excellent public speaker on a range of subjects, my strongest being criminal justice, Constitutional Law, research procedures, restorative justice and consumer fraud issues. I am very knowledgeable in the areas of arbitration and mediation.
My areas of expertise for teaching: Constitutional law, criminal justice (punitive and non-punitive areas), investigation procedures, mediation, arbitration, and academic writing. I am also well versed in American History, policing history, and consumer issues - banking, frauds, and so forth.
I am well versed in Microsoft products particularly power point, excel, and word. I can provide a client with a good working knowledge of most Microsoft products. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in law and I am presently working on my dissertation in Public Service Leadership and my emphasis is criminal justice. During my time with the State of Virginia I was the in-service trainer for a staff of three investigators and several other staff members - primarily involved in tort (civil) law and consumer issues. Lastly, I spent 18 years in law enforcement as a patrol officer, investigator, supervisor, chief of police, and law enforcement first sergeant.

I am proficient in reading skills; ASVAB testing (military service); and the GED. My Master's degrees are from Grand Canyon University in Criminal Justice with legal emphasis, and Capella University in Public Service Leadership.
