Bio

My name is Taylor, I’m a lifelong student of math and science and I love helping people enjoy the subjects as much as I do. I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a B.A. in Chemistry -- one of the most rigorous STEM programs in the country -- and I know how to break down challenging material to make it more accessible. I’ve worked with every level of student, from at-risk high schoolers with significant gaps in their education to high performing college students seeking to get ahead in their classes. I have over 6 years of experience tutoring high schoolers one-on-one in subjects such as Calculus, AP Chemistry, Algebra, Trigonometry and many more. I also have experience teaching Literature in a large classroom setting at the university level.

I’ve tutored several branches of mathematics and science simultaneously for the past few years and this has given me a broad mastery of the subjects that enables me to help you tackle the material. I can show you Trigonometry tricks to make Calculus easier, and I can show you applications to Chemistry and Physics that will make Algebra more fun. Math and science classes have an underlying narrative and seeing it can make them much easier as new topics can be viewed as natural extensions of old ones. Instead of memorizing an endless barrage of seemingly unrelated formulas you can focus on deeply grasping a few key concepts and procedures -- seeing everything else as a natural consequence. I will help you follow the narrative and point you to the key concepts. That means no more relearning everything at the start of a new semester!

I love meeting new students and tailoring sessions to their unique learning style, so feel free to contact me and set up an appointment. I am easy to reach and check my account daily. Can’t wait to hear from you!
