Hey there! I'm Abbie. I graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering, and a minor in Mechanical Engineering while competing on the varsity cross country team. Over the course of my education, I found I was passionate about the intersection of math and science. The nature of these disciplines is one of difficulty, which resulted in me relying on professors, TAs, and mentors to help me break down hard-to-grasp topics and pose problems in a digestible and comprehensible way! I found these tools to be the most engaging and useful approach to learning, and strive to bring a similar approach to my tutoring style. I want to give back to students by helping to further their academic endeavors using tools that helped me the most in my studies and work. I absolutely love seeing a student being able to understand material in an engaging way, and being excited about learning as a result.

I work to create an open environment where students feel comfortable enough to ask for clarity and where I am able to deliver help in an engaging and comprehensible manner. At the end of the day, I want learning to be a pleasant and welcoming experience. I offer lesson plans that are creative and interactive, while teaching the material in an explicit and constructive way. I base my lesson plans on individual student needs and desired focuses and allow the opportunity for students to practice on their own after a session. I have experience tutoring high school and college level subjects in the math and sciences. I also have a deep understanding of several coding languages that I believe I can be of assistance with.

I believe I present math topics in a way that is applicable and therefore provides a deeper understanding to the core concepts. I have many years of high level math and have gone through trial and error to find the most approachable, yet explicit, ways to teach the subject. I tutored Alg1 and Alg2 in high school and college, while tutoring Precalculus and Calculus throughout college.
