Hello! I have a Master's degree in Nursing and three years' experience at the University of Virginia, working as a clinical instructor in pediatrics. I love teaching and recently have had to leave the job, but miss my students and patients. I am available as a tutor because I have a passion for inspiring my students to become smarter nurses and empowering them to be better students: I will make the work not only challenging, but also rewarding. My aim is more to inspire curiosity and enjoyment than in giving busy work.

I have a Master's Degree in Nursing and graduated in 2013. I worked as a pediatric nurse for three years in our Children's Hospital, where I treated patients aged 1 day to 22 years with various diagnoses and diseases: I have given chemotherapy to children with cancer; managed post-op care for those who recently received liver, lung, heart, and kidney transplants; helped teach parents how to care for their children with newly diagnosed Type 1 Diabetes, talked about chronic illness with teenagers living with Cystic Fibrosis; and taught brand new parents how to manage their infant's Gtube. I continued to work with these same patients and families as I taught clinical nursing for the following three years at the University of Virginia as a pediatric clinical instructor for BSN and MSN students. In this position I learned not only what was truly important in being a nurse, but how to help my students see and learn it. After a year in this position, I began focusing my teaching on critical thinking and clinical reasoning more and more and that is where my passion lies: in inspiring curiosity to learn and truly understand what is happening, what we're doing, and why.

Please contact me and let me know what you're struggling with, what you're worried about, and what I can do to help. I'm available to help with Pharmacology, A&P, Med-Surg, Pediatrics, Research-based courses and much more! I also can help you with knowing how to interact with patients and families, what to focus on during your clinicals, and I can give you tasks to do post-clinical to reflect on what you're going through and how you're feeling.

I do NOT have experience in Critical Care and therefore would not encourage you to reach out to me to help with this course.
