I have been a language teacher for over 20 years. While living in Spain, I began teaching English to native Spaniards and visiting foreigners. Here in the U.S., I have taught many levels of Spanish and English to many different age groups. I really love to see the "light go on": when a student finally realizes that s/he can communicate with someone from another culture. The whole world opens up for her/him!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
