About Hae

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. First of all, I acquired a bachelor of art in Integrative Studies with a concentration on elementary education at George Mason University, and I possess a District of Columbia elementary license through George Washington University Master’s program. I taught preschool students for eight years in a Christian preschool and a Head Start class in Fairfax County. I student taught in District of Columbia public school system for the fall semester of 2009. From October to May of 2010, I student taught in the Fairfax County public school system. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had.

I am highly qualified to teach Korean in diverse classroom. Because I am an emigrant to America, I have a distinct viewpoint and advantage in teaching in both cultures. Throughout my American high school education, four-year college program, and one-year master’s degree, I was able to see pros and cons of both educational systems and culture.

Moreover, I have been teaching online Korean classes for a private institute over two years. By meeting with culturally and linguistically diverse groups of students, I have earned variety understanding of students’ needs for learning a foreign language. I also learned the challenges that students gets as they learn a new language. I can share few stories or tips from my other students to help them to overcome the challenges. In addition, I also believe that my background of elementary education major would help to perform good teaching skills for this position. I believe that learning a foreign language would much fun and easy if I incorporate with elementary level teaching methods.

If you want to learn the language, Korean culture, customs, history and much more, please email me with your level, goals, and number of hours per week you intend to have, and I will reply to discuss details including rates.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
