Hi! My name is Erin. I have been in education for over 18 years! I have taught biology and all levels of chemistry, including currently teaching AP Chemistry. I thoroughly enjoy being in the classroom and working with students. I have a Bachelors in Biology, a Masters in Curriculum and Education, and am ONE CLASS away from completing another Masters in Education Leadership! I believe in life long learning and am here to help students reach their goals.

I find working with students one-on-one enjoyable and have learned that while science is not everyone's favorite subject, I am good at helping students navigate difficult topics, especially in chemistry. I believe in using a variety of different approaches to helping students fully grasp material and make connections between related content. Furthermore, my patience and experience makes me well suited to also help elementary math students in addition to chemistry students.

I have an extensive background in chemistry, having taught it for the last 15 years. I work with students of all levels in chemistry and am well prepared to help even the most advanced students. My students maintain a passing average on the AP exam and I have a 100% pass rate on the Va Chemistry SOL. In addition, my background in biology makes me a suitable elementary science tutor as well. I am also well prepared to help future teachers with their biology and/or chemistry Praxis Exams.

I also have an extensive background in swimming. I swam competitively growing up and started coaching a local summer team at 18 years old. I continued coaching and giving swim lessons while teaching, as summers off make excellent time to do this! I have coached two different high school swim teams, one in New Jersey and one in Virginia. I have also coached two private club swim teams, one in Southern California and the other in Virginia. I worked for a decade as the "swim pro" at a local country club as well.
