Debra is really an excellent ESOL tutor I have had ever seen. I was so shy to communicate with other people in the beginning that I couldn't ask somebody for something, although I have enough vocabulary knowledge and grammar skills. After 7 hours of tutoring, I can say that I feel myself, comfortable enough to talk with my friends about a lot of things. We discussed with Debra about the history and education system of the Turkey, and about the social life, as well, which I couldn't imagine before. Many thanks to Debra for providing this opportunity.
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. Tutoring is a two part project, the tutor and the student. It is easy to do a good job when one works with dedicated students such as yourself. Your eagerness to learn and to improve, along with your wonderful personally, are two major elements working together with my instruction to give you confidence and therefore, success. I look forward to continuing with our sessions and helping you become more and more proficient everyday.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I believe that to master a language, a person needs a strong foundation in grammar and how the English languge is constructed. In addition, one should have lots of opportunity to speak, both in conversation and in short presentation. Reading too is a must, I use various types of readings from fiction, non-fiction, biographies, and journal articles to prepare my student read and understand a variety of informational materials. My classes are comprehensive and have students learning English across a multitude of skills.
I have taken and passed the Praxis test. It is a requirement for my dual certification in both English and ESOL.
