I have taught High School Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and Physics for more than 30 years. My students have always been very successful on the SOL tests, and I am very familiar with the set-up and format of the test. I have also tutored several of my ex-students in General Chemistry. My forte in Physics is mechanics, but I teach other topics as well. Over the years, I have learned many "tricks" to help make Chemistry and Physics more understandable and easier to comprehend. I have also learned several methods to make the calculations easier.
I have found that no one way is successful for all students. I encourage students to try different study and problem-solving methods until they find the combinations that work best for them. I also encourage every student to take several learning-styles inventories to determine their learning style. With this we can be much more efficient in using methods that will benefit the individual and we can avoid less beneficial methods.
Teaching has been my life. There is nothing I would rather do. I will do everything in my power to help you to be successful.

David keeps my daughter's attention span "active". We shall continue to use his help in the transition from home-school to regular school
We decided to keep Algebra, so she would have a twice weekly in one subject rather than doing chemistry on the 2nd session. It has helped her advance farther.
I hope David finds it as convenient to make the trip here as it is for us to have him come here. Thank you!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
