About Matthew

As a former youth pastor at a local church where I spent several years doing youth ministry, I understand the nervousness people may have when looking for someone to help them achieve their personal and academic goals. Should you allow me to help you excel academically, you can be at ease knowing that you will be working with someone who not only cares about your future but who also can be trusted. In over 4 years of tutoring I have helped over 20 students raise their scores an average of two letter grades. Of the 30+ students I have helped retake comprehensive exams such as the ASVAB and SAT, the average student raises their grades by 125%.

Whatever your math skill level is, I can guarantee that I will be able to help you get the grade you want on the exam. For example, I recently finished helping a young man who could not do simple multiplication (ex. 4 x 4=?) when I started working with him. After working together he achieved a high enough score on the ASVAB to get into the Special Forces. No matter how well you are currently performing in your studies, together we can get you to where you want to be.

For those looking to take the ASVAB and get into the military, I offer a 20% discount over what I typically charge students. It is the least I can do to thank you for offering to fight for the freedoms my family and I enjoy.

I am available in the afternoon, evening and on weekends so whatever your schedule looks like, I can almost guarantee that I can accommodate. If you have any questions about the method I will use to help you achieve success feel free to ask! I hope you give me the opportunity to help you achieve the dreams you are aspiring to!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

As a youth pastor one of my responsibilities is to ensure that all children, including those in elementary school receive lessons where they not only learn the material but also are able to apply it. I have personal experience teaching a weekly early elementary class for over a year and half where each night I prepared a lesson and activity and was able (in just 30-45 minutes) to teach a lesson, perform a craft and get the children to memorize a Bible verse. I am not only successful at getting young children to learn the class material but also get them to apply it as well. This in my opinion is better than simply teaching. When I see that the children I teach can apply the class material to other situations, I know I have done a successful job.

Great tutor

I've had 6 lesson with Matt recently and all 6 have been very successful! He takes his time to make sure that his student is understanding the lessons being taught. He will repeat if necessary and will also use a different approach. He's very understanding. He goes above and beyond with making sure that his student is successful for what he is tutoring for!
