While attending Northern Virginia Community College to get my Associates I also worked part time in the Math Lab tutoring across multiple subjects in math. My core subjects were tutoring Algebra 1 and 2 and Calculus 1 through 3. I also worked with students taking Pre-Calculus and Differential Equations. After completing my Associates Degree I stayed with the NVCC Math Lab for another year bring my time working there to 2 years.

My core subjects were tutoring Algebra 1 and 2 and Calculus 1 through 3. I also worked with students taking Pre-Calculus and Differential Equations. After completing my Associates Degree I stayed with the NVCC Math Lab for another year bring my time working there to 2 years.
What I think I liked the most about tutoring was the one on one level of instruction which allowed me to better see a students problem areas and work with them to help them learn how to avoid their mistakes. Tutoring also allowed me to learn for myself what the best ways to communicate math concepts are to a student. I look forward to fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere with future students.
I have a strong understanding of mathematics as well as a genuine enthusiasm for learning new mathematical concepts and teaching mathematics to my peers. I always try to encourage people to become curious about mathematics as it allows them to proactively learn math at their own pace.
My schedule is very flexible and I encourage students to contact me if the need help with a specific problem or find themselves stuck with a concept.
