My name is Carlos and I'm a rising senior at Virginia Tech. I have been tutoring for 6 years this coming August with experience ranging from elementary mathematics including concept building, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, as well as Trigonometry and Calculus. Additionally, I've tutored young students from ages 7 to 11 in reading and writing, and students from 12 to 18 in Spanish. I naturally have an inclination towards teaching math, however I love language, which is why I also practice tutoring reading and writing in both English and Spanish (for both native speakers and non-native speakers). I'm enthusiastic and love to engage in students' learning process because seeing a student finally click with a concept is what drives my passion for tutoring.
Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus 1 and 2 (AB and BC), Differential Equations, Statics, Mechanics of Deformable Bodies, Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Spanish 3, Spanish 4 (Composition), Spanish 5 (AP/College level).

I am incredibly patient and truly am willing to help my students understand what they need to know. I don't encourage 100 problems, rather I encourage learning a step-by-step method that will guarantee effective results. This means my students should be able to face problems and identify how to move around them. My name is Carlos and I'm a rising senior at Virginia Tech. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
