Hi, I'm Matthew! I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and have worked for over three years as a professional full stack software developer. A few of my specializations include C#, C++, Python, and JavaScript. Regardless of your level of experience, I can help with your Computer Science tutoring needs.

In college, I tutored my peers in their college-level coursework. I started tutoring in my Junior year, and helped with anything from introductory programming classes to advanced data structures classes. Both my sisters are Computer Science majors, so I've also assisted them with any homework they've struggled with. I've always enjoyed helping students learn concepts and solve problems.

My tutoring method is to ensure a student understands core concepts by walking through practical problems. I study best by repeating conceptually related problems until the concept becomes second nature, and I've found this helps many students I've tutored. However, each student is different, so I'll first take the time to learn how you can study best, and cater my tutoring to fit you.

When tutoring, I'm not afraid to get creative, either. In college, my cyber security professor posted a challenge to see if anyone could phish him, and I was the only student who successfully did so. That challenge pushed me to study harder and to recognize the practical value of what I was learning. I realized challenges like that can push others as well. So whenever possible, I like to incorporate fun challenges to motivate students to study better. I have a passion for education, and would love to help you like I've helped others.
