I have Bachelor degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematical Physics from University at Buffalo. I am a computer systems integrator in the government sectors during the day, I am a volunteer lead instructor at Computer CORE on certain nights. My passion in Math and Science started when I was young, the games that I played on my smart phones daily are KenKen / Super Soduku.
As a lead instructor at Computer CORE, I teach basic computing (keyboarding, intro to computer, and MS Office suite) to the low income working adults. My students ages are from mid 20s to late 50s with the majority of them are in their 30s. I've been with Computer CORE for more than 4 years (total of 9 semesters teaching) where students gets NOVA credits. Even though I don't have a teaching certificate nor a degree in education, I have an extensive background in teaching my passionate subjects (Math, Computer, and Science)
I tutored high school and college students in Math (Algebra / Geometry / Trigonometry / Pre Calculus / Calculus / Multi-Variables Calculus) when I was still in college (10+ years). 2 of my students were 400 miles away from my school, but I was able to use email and instant messaging to help them with school works. I was able to witness both of them become successful in high school and college. We did end up meeting each others in person during the summer time. Most of my college students were my group of friends who took the classes after me.
My tutoring experience has not stop since college, I continued tutoring high school students in Northern Virginia region with their Math classes. Subjects: pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. All of my existing students outside of WyzAnt got into college already, so I am looking for new students currently.
I am a patient instructor and always teach more than one ways to solve the problem. It is the key trick to verify your answer is correct. The probability that you derived the same wrong answer with two different methods are very slim.
I generally preferred tutoring in a public area (library), but don't mind in house tutoring if needed.
