4.0 GPA and Math Competition Winner
I have a passion for Math. I have been teaching and tutoring part time for the last 25 years. While in college, I was on the Putnam Intercollegiate Math Competition team for 3 consecutive years, and won several math competitions. I had a 4.0 GPA in math as an undergraduate (graduating with more than twice the number of required credit hours in math). I also obtained a perfect score in Computer Science (20 out of 20) while a student at the University Pierre and Marie Curie, Paris, France. I...
I enjoy explaining math to others and sharing the excitement that I have about the subject.
I received perfect scores on SAT Math Level 1 (800/800) , SAT Math Level 2 (800/800), Praxis II Mathematics: Content Knowledge (200/200), and Praxis II Computer Science (200/200).
Besides regular math courses, I have taught problem-solving classes to prepare for Mathcounts, the Math League Contest, the Math Kangaroo Competition, the American Mathematics Competition (AMC 8, 10, and 12), the Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament, and the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) -- these classes prepare kids to go on the USA and International Mathematical Olympiads.
Our experience with Alexis was absolutely outstanding. My son was struggling with a higher-end math course in college, necessary for his curriculum, and laboring with a less-than-ideal professor. My son began sessions a few weeks into the semester, and they prevented what would otherwise have been a disaster. Alexis is a truly gifted individual, with an uncanny natural mathematical ability combined with the rare talent of being able to convey complex ideas in a manner that makes them accessible and understandable by the student. Additionally, Alexis is personable, punctual, meticulous in responding to contacts, and very easy to talk to. Should my son encounter difficulties in future courses, I know where we will turn. I would heartily recommend him as a Class-A, top-of-the-line tutor.Scott, 10 lessons with Alexis

We are the parent of the student. From the feedback from Alexis, the student is having problem with some basic understandings. This exactly agrees with our assessment/feelings. It is very helpful that Alexis helps the student build a more solid foundation.Dengwei, 11 lessons with Alexis
Very knowledgeable tutor
Alexis has helped me grasp concepts in graduate level engineering courses and has always responded to me in a timely manner. He is very knowledgeable and will give you time to understand the concepts before moving forward. I'm looking forward to more sessions with him in the future.Shivam, 7 lessons with Alexis
He helped me with a very, very challenging assignment. I learned so freaking much it is hard to describe it all. He knows how to analyze and break things down so that you can follow the line of reasoning. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Would happily take him again!Caleb, 2 lessons with Alexis
Creative and patient
Alexis is helping my daughter with math. Not just how to do problems, but how to understand what the numbers mean. He constantly searches for new ways to explain things.Richard, 20 lessons with Alexis

I wish I would have signed up with Alexis from day 1 of my class, I would understand a lot more than I do now.Antoine, 4 lessons with Alexis
Above and Beyond
Not only was Alexis a great help when it came to the material itself (Assembly Code ARMv8), but he also looked up very helpful material on the subject. In addition, he provided more comprehensive reviews on professor-made solutions that seemed to be drawing from many different styles of coding, pointing out where there were less efficient ways of coding and how to improve upon the answers. Essentially not stopping at the right answer, but WHY and HOW it could be improved. Would highly recommend!Aidan, 6 lessons with Alexis
Great Aid/guidance (C++ and Linear Algebra)
Alexis helped me very much at an important time of my semester. I believe Alexis is a professional in the subjects for which he offers help. Keep up the good work. He is also fair and understanding, as a person, when it comes to teaching and charging. I would recommend Alexis to anyone who needs help/assistance with C++ or linear algebra.Victor, 7 lessons with Alexis
