Bio

I obtained a perfect SAT score in high school thanks to a self-designed study program, and I since have coached dozens of students to sizable score gains on their own standardized tests through precisely-targeted instruction. My recent students increased their scores up to 120 points per section on the SAT and up to 17 points per section on the ACT. One of those students obtained a SAT composite score of 1590, and another student obtained a 35.25 composite score on the ACT.

Drawing upon a reservoir of knowledge I pooled as a former education strategy consultant and professor, I also assist students with building their college application packages. My students have gained admission to schools such as Harvard, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Although I currently work as an international trade lawyer for the federal government, I consider my time spent tutoring to be some of the most rewarding hours of my week. I look forward to the privilege of working with you to attain your goals.

Note: At Wyzant's suggestion, I report below on some of my own test results. I also note that I teach math subjects up through calculus (algebra, geometry, algebra 2, trigonometry, and calculus) and chemistry as standalone subjects upon request.

SAT Math: 800
SAT Verbal: 800
GRE Verbal: 780
GRE Math: 780
GRE Analytical Writing: 6.0

I additionally scored a 5 on each of the following AP tests, becoming a National AP Scholar in 1999. In that year, only 0.2% of test takers achieved the award, making it six times rarer than it it today.

(i) AP Calculus BC;
(ii) AP Chemistry;
(iii) AP European History;
(iv) AP U.S. Government and Politics;
(v) AP Macroeconomics;
(vi) AP Physics B (covering current AP Physics 1 and AP Physics 2);

Excellent, Thorough, Well Planned

Christopher tutored my son for the SATs. He was exceptionally thorough and intentional in his approach. He was able, through exercises and practice tests, to determine what areas my son needed to work on and then helped him with strategies to strengthen these areas. Christopher interacted well with my son, was professional and always on time. We highly recommend him!

SAT help on short notice

As a parent we do our best to help our children. My son has been studying for his October SAT with much help provided with many ‘prep’ courses. He needed that extra help a few days prior to the test and I was flustered how can I find someone on such short notice who was academically prepared for such a task. I submitted request to some tutors on Wyzant and was denied as this was difficult due to the short time availability. I was pleased when Christopher "squeezed" my son into his busy schedule and I am happy to say my son was appreciative of the help he gave on some topics that he had trouble with. I am also a professional with a master’s degree unknown to Christopher. 😆 As I reviewed his interaction with my son I had to give five stars for his professionalism, his knowledge and patience throughout the lesson. I am especially grateful to him for accepting my son in such short notice. Thank you Chris and to all who are looking for help academically, I recommend Christopher.

Individualized approach

Chris customized the review based my son’s academic need and availability to meet the overall goal for the summer. My son enjoyed the pace and his approach. This is a challenging summer for my son with other activities taking up most of his time. I am glad that Chris is willing to work with him to individualize the review just for my son!
