About Olga

I was born and raised in Moscow, where I graduated from the Journalism Department at the Russian State University for the Humanities. In 2010, I completed my PhD in Russian literature (philology).

Since 2015 until present I've been tutoring students from Georgetown University, who are studying Russian. I am also one of the tutors for the Alfa Fellowship Program, specialist in Russian literature of 19th century and a certified teacher of Russian as a foreign language.

Russian is my native language and one of the most beautiful and outstanding things in the world. So even if your level is A1, you're welcome to contact me.

I live in Arlington and have a few nice places in neighbourhood to study Russian. I'm also available for online lessons.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Russian

I was born and raised in Moscow, where in 2008 I graduated from the Journalism Department at the Russian State University for the Humanities. In 2010, I completed my PhD in Russian literature (philology).
For several years I did research on the history of Russian literature and journalism, while teaching students, working on a TV channel in Moscow, and contributing to a number of magazines and printed journals. I consider this experience also very useful to those who are willing not only to learn the Russian language but to keep up with the rich cultural traditions of Russia.
Since November 2015 until present I’ve been tutoring students from Georgetown University, who are studying Russian. I am also one of the official Russian tutors for the Alfa Fellowship Program.
I now teach Russian at the Russian Cultural Center.

This year I was certified by the Moscow State University as a teacher of Russian as a foreign language.

Qualified, Competent and Enjoyable — After a first meeting with Olga, I walked away with a positive outlook on our future endeavor of Russian language study. Olga is educated in Russian, experienced in teaching, and a pleasant companion for the duration of our study period. After that first impression I was sure about taking on some difficult reading together as a mutual project into the foreseeable future. ...
