My name is Amanda. I am originally from New York. I graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a BS in Mathematics with a minor in Spanish in 2012. I continued my education at Canisius College to complete my MS in Adolescent Education in Mathematics in 2013. I have passed my Praxis II Math Exam. I have been teaching high school math in Northern Virginia for the past 3 years. I hold a New York State and Virginia State teaching license.
I am dedicated to student success, staying current with research and utilizing varied teaching techniques to deliver quality, engaging instruction while fulfilling curriculum, State and Common Core requirements. I have experience in Algebra I. I completed some of my student teaching in a Algebra I classroom. I have also tutored students who were taking the Algebra I state test and they were successful on the test.
I am currently teaching Algebra II in Northern Virginia. I am up to date on state standards and practicing for the SOL. I would be able to help any Algebra II student with material, homework, preparing for a test or the Algebra II SOL.
I am currently teaching PreAP Geometry in Northern VA and have been for the last 2 years. My students have been extremely successful on the Geometry SOL. I have a classroom pass rate of 98.5%.
